Kicking off her global tour to bring attention to menstrual health and hygiene under The Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Campaign, Miss World 2017 Ms. Manushi Chillar stopped by at New Light Kolkata using the power of beauty to transform the lives of millions of girls around the world.

The team of seven beauty queens from around the world had joined Ms. Chillar and CEO Ms. Julia Morley who also visited New Light Kolkata Mukti Project, an empowerment-income generation health project manufacturing bio-degradable sanitary napkins, beginning the reigning Miss World's global tour to bring attention to menstrual health and hygiene.

The reigning Miss World, Ms. Manushi Chillar visited New Light Kolkata to interact with the women about the importance of menstrual hygiene. The initiative was part of the 'Beauty With A Purpose' campaign. She interacted with the women from the project Mukti which manufactures bio-degradable sanitary napkins and is also an empowerment-income generation health project. Ms. Chillar was accompanied by Julia Morley, Chairman and CEO, Miss World Organisation and the eight Miss World winners - Stephanie Del Valle (Miss World 2016), Magline Jeruto (Miss World Africa), Ha Eun Kim (Miss World Asia), Annie Dian Evans (Miss World Oceania), Stephanie Jayne Hill (Miss World Europe), Solange Johnson Sinclair (Miss World Caribbean), and Alma Andrea Meza Carmona (Miss World Americas)
